Do you ever stop and ask yourself if the technology that we surround ourselves with helps us or destroys us?
I think about this often.
There is a book called The Veldt by Ray Bradbury that was written in the 50's that talks about a family who moves into an amazing house that has a very special technology room were the children go into and are able to change the walls to show different nature paradises.
The children are so obsessed with this room that they spend a lot of time in there and rely more on this great technological house than their parents.
The story ends with the children choosing an African scene in this room and inviting their parents in while the African lions roam around. The story doesn't tell us specifically but we can infer that the lions ate the parents and that the children and the technology lived happily ever after.
I wanted to create an image that symbolized all of these ideas and that caused the viewer to ask whether technology is taking over our lives or if it is aiding in our growth.
